The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention define Aging in Place as: "the ability live in one's own home and community safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, or ability level". Aging in Place does not mean just living in your home as you age, but adapting your home to fit your changing health, lifestyle, and abilities. According to AARP, 77% of the people over 50 want to stay in their home as they age. That number jumps to 90% for people over 65.
